PokeJoin / WorldPokeMap
Description
Pokéjoin was created in 2016, I utilized a public Github project to create and scale a website application to find Pokémon within the Pokémon Go game. Received over 2.3 million page views within the short time-frame it was live. This project started off with just my local city and quickly expanded to over 14 countries and had supported 155 cities peaking at 75,000 daily page views and at times have 2,000 concurrent users. After reaching expenses of over $4,700 a month in server and proxy costs the community donated to keep the website going for months until I ended up collaborating with a University of Florida student to create WorldPokéMap.
Project Highlights
After spreading to over 6 coutnries and 40+ cities, PokeJoin was mentioned on several YouTube videos around the world without any endorsement.
